The Hotel Bar

Licenced: Monday to Saturday 11 am – 11 pm and Sunday 12 noon – 8 pm (available depending on demand).

The hotel bar is licenced to serve alcohol and refreshments, the Bar offers a range of drinks including draught and bottled beers and ciders, wine by the glass or bottle and a variety of soft drinks. Children are welcome in the Bar until early evening and we have games to help entertain them while adults unwind.

The Knights Court Bar is home to a collection of model ships that we have collected over the years and has nautical art by local and international artists. When the weather allows, or if you want a breath of fresh air, we also have an external patio space off the Bar with occasional seating and tables & chairs.

Wines: Our House Wines are specially selected and offer great value whether you want a glass or a bottle. In addition, we offer a small range of named wines including an incredible Italian…

Beers: We’ve learnt over the years that if you like beers, you don’t want something from a metal keg that has little taste. With this in mind, we offer some local and regional bottled beers that have all won awards over the years.

Spirits: You can’t beat a good Gordon’s & tonic – but in the same way, we have a love for other flavours and brands of gin, whisky (and whiskey), Vodka and rum. Our standard serve is 35ml – so bigger than the usual pub quantity.

Softs and mixers: We love our soft drinks too – whether it’s a Coke or Coke Zero, a Fevertree Tonic, a Victorian Lemonade – or just a good quality fruit juice.

And if none of the above makes you whet your whistle, we also offer a great Irish Coffee!

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room from 8.00-9.30 am Monday – Friday, and 8.30-10.00 am at weekends and Bank Holidays. You can start your day with a range of hot breakfast options including a full English breakfast or local kipper, a selection of pastries or cereals, or just juice, yoghurt and fresh fruit.

We do believe in good food – and that starts with good ingredients that are treated with care and cooked correctly. We serve thick-cut smoked bacon (trust us, it does taste wonderful), our sausages are made for us by the Butcher on the Suffolk border, our tomatoes and mushrooms are freshly cooked and we only use free-range eggs – it does make a difference!

Our kippers come from our local fishmonger who has their smokehouse – you can taste the difference.

Omelettes have become a staple for us – the base is always three eggs and then you can pick your other ingredients. They take time to cook – it’s not a Saturday morning TV cook race in our kitchen!

The Restaurant

Dinner is served from 6.30-8.00 pm Thursday – Saturday.

Chef-Owner James Nickerson leads The Restaurant at the Knights Court Hotel and offers a balanced menu of seasonal and regional dishes alongside classic British and modern European cuisine.

We strongly believe that good food is produced from great ingredients, and here at the Knights Court Hotel we select only the finest. We are committed to using fresh, seasonal and local produce wherever possible. All our meats come from high-quality traditional butchers. Our steaks come from Norfolk rare breed cattle and are aged for a minimum of 31 days. We work with a local fishmonger who provides us with fresh, seasonal fish and all our poultry and eggs are free range and our vegetables are sourced by working with local growers and producers.

All our food is cooked fresh to order here in our kitchen. Our menu changes to reflect season and produce availability with recent dishes including Dressed Cromer crab with brown bread & butter, Grilled goats’ cheese, crispy bacon & French bean salad, Extra mature sirloin steak with garlic butter and French fries, Dingley Dell pork chop with apple sauce and new potatoes, Gnocchi with pumpkin & rosemary sauce and homemade puddings including Bakewell tart with custard, Lemon meringue pie with ice cream and Baked chocolate & orange mousse.
